Adopted Kip, STAR # 1320

We love Matt. brave enough to take on this wonderful little guy, Kip.. to see through his crazy barking greeting and to be willing to continue to work to improve his manners. Thanks to his fosters John and Julie.

Available Dog Kip, STAR # 1320
Kip has been returned to STAR for some fine tuning. He is a little dog with a big bark and was not greeting guests properly. His new foster home has worked extensively with Kip. he just needed some training. There are two sides to every story.

Kip speaks:
Have you heard the saying “Big things come in small package’s”? That went to my head, so today I’m a 38lb., 3 yr old, black-tri male, who needs to ‘meet my match’. While in the home of a young working couple, who had never raised an Aussie, I managed to convince them that I was in charge, and I had a check-in policy for guests that got me sent back to S.T.A.R. It didn’t take any time for my foster Mom, to figure me out, guess my secrets, and get me back on track. My ego is where it should be now, so I promise to be a really good boy for you.

Foster Mom Speaks:
I’ll be glad to share Kip’s “secrets”, and my solutions, with his adopter. He has MANY good qualities, is VERY loving, plays well around horses, and because Kip loves to play with other dogs I think he would do best with a pack. He walks well on a leash, sits (but does not stay), and can melt your heart with his beautiful brown eyes. He seeks lots of loving and then quickly settles down, gives soft, warm kisses is a favorite at the pet resort & dog park, and has learned to meet new friends properly. There are a few situations when Kip will resist. Crating, jumping gently, or coming on command are solved with a “QUIT”, then a treat, or getting down on one knee, which usually can solve most hesitations. Kip needs a strong influence that can keep one step ahead of him, recognize, and correct his quest to become the leader, discipline any problem with a loving, but firm solution, and give him lots of attention.

Kip lives in Cypress. As sweet as he is, if YOU can’t be a pack leader, please keep looking for your ideal pup. Otherwise, fill out an application, I would love to tell you how this little guy can make your day.

Adopted Kip, STAR # 1320
Found in a shelter in Louisiana, Kip made his way to STAR and Aussie Acres. Now Kip has been adopted by John and Kathryne and will live in downtown Houston. He’s going to need some training but they seem up to the task. Thanks to Chip for the home visit and to John for another amazing job of fostering.

Available Dog Kip, STAR # 1320
Found in a shelter in Louisiana, Kip was transported to Houston.. He has been fully vetted and evaluated.. Here is what his foster dad says about Kip:

“Hi, my name is Kip !!!

I’m a 35-pound black tri male. I’m crate trained, good with cats and have great house manners. I have been staying with other dogs at my foster home. At first, I was to “big for my britches,” wanting to challenge the males in the house. Since then I’ve found my place in the pack. I love attention, I can’t seem to get enough. I’m very focused captionfoster dad and want to please him. I can be crazy barky when meeting new people but I get over it quicky and hopefully, you will too… I probably need to work on this.

I know a few things like sit and off but still have a lot to learn. I walk okay on a leash, pulling at first but calmed down quickly. I also love to go in the car. I have been neutered, am current on all my shots, am on heartworm prevention and I have a nice new microchip. If you are interested in meeting me please fill out an application on the STAR website. My foster home is in Sweeny.”

New Dog Kip, STAR # 1320
Approx. one year old male from the shelter in Crowley, La. Maybe 35 lbs.. Kip needs to go to the vet for neuter and vaccinations. He will be fostered in Sweeny. Playful nice dog.
